Lekker Spitbraai Gauteng

There was nothing lekker about the event that Lekker Spitbraai catered. The reality was a huge disappointment at a significant cost. We decided to get our event catered to make it more special and less stressful. The point was to not have to do or think of anything, and get a delicious meal at the end. We paid R176 per head, which is not cheap! Unfortunately, we were sent two inexperienced staff members with a faulty spitbraai (that was not able to cook the meat). They did not even have any tools to fix the equipment, and asked us for a spanner! We spent the evening running around trying to make a plan, and in the end one of the guests had to take over, spending a good few hours trying to cook the meat. Some of the meat was braaied, which turned out tough and dry because it had been half cooked on the spit, and half the meat was raw. We ended up getting a plate of cold disgusting food with half cooked, half raw meat. Inedible! The worst part was that the owner would take no responsibility for the disaster, and played a blame game. A quote from one of her emails highlights the ridiculous nature of her response:  "If the meat was then took over by your butcher guest and cooked on the braai, how did they get raw meat on their plate?" She will not refund us because we ate some of the meat that we had to braai ourselves! How is that ok when you have paid to have your event catered!? Avoid at all costs, incompetent at best - the only thing they are capable of doing is spoiling your event and ripping you off.
